When you're looking to purchase earbuds that drown out the sounds in the background, there are a few things that you need to look out for before you make your purchase. You don't want to just go out, drop some money at your local store and find out that they don't get the job done because let's face it. There are a lot of headphones out there that do a very bad job.

#1. Get the Reviews
The first thing that you need to do is check out reviews online. You can head to just about any popular merchant online and find what other people think about it. I only buy highly rated items and it always pays off. I let other people do the work and let me know what they think of it. I would say that 90% of the time they are doing a good job.

#2. How much sound does it drown out?
The headphones will state how much sound that the drown out. If it's anything below 75-80%, I would highly consider another one. While it's impossible to drown out 100%. The closer you can get to that number, the better it's going to be.
#3. Don't be cheap
You don't want to be cheap with something dealing with electronics. You don't want to go out and purchase $10 headphones, and find out that they are crap. You will be out your $10! Instead, you may want to spend $50 to ensure yourself that you're getting a good pair.

In my opinion, I would recommend that you check out the following brands...
* Panasonic

* Sony

* Philips

* JBuds

Check out my top 5 noise cancelling earbuds and see which ones I highly recommend! These earbuds have 100s of reviews and will do the job for you!
